Be prepared to end up like a colander: (no I don't mean people keep pouring cooked vegetable over your head), the nurse at our local surgery seemed to know what she was doing but we confirmed what she'd said with Nomad We already had yellow fever (the injection that is) and Tetanus so it was Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Rabies, Meningitis but the biggest problem is malaria.
Having taken Larium before during a contract in Central Africa and suffering from delusions and hallucinations, the most bizarre being that I was attractive to all females,.... absolutely ridiculous.. I wont be taking that again.... the disappointment of reality proved too much.
Apparently Doxycyclin is the one we need and will also stop stomach bugs
The contents of the first aid kit will balance what to take with what we can use and what to take that other people can use.
Like all accidents its difficult to forecast but we expect the biggest problem will be in cuts and burns so we'll take the usual first aid kit plus butterfly stitches and a range of needles.
Searched the house for odd bandages plasters, old pills, some suppositories (last time I used them I forgot to take the silver paper off!) , a 25 year old packet of condoms (still unopened), and that should do it..If I need anything else I've got my vehicle tool kit.
